Apr 10, 2020 If you don’t want to go direct into the interface, you can also use a microphone to pick up the tone from your own amp. I understand; you’ve spent thousands of dollars on an amp and pedals to get that perfect tone, and maybe you’d like to use that tone for your project on GarageBand.

I have a focusrite Interface and a Rode Microphone. When I first installed everything it worked fine then I unplugged it and tried plugging it in again and it doesn't work at all. The interface says it's picking up noise and If i plug my headphones into it I can hear myself.
However on garage band when I change my system preferences and garagebands preferences to the Interface it says it has no audio controls and it doesn't show it making noise, and whnever I try to record on garageband it doesn't even pick it up with it selected as the Input Source. The Recording Level also goes gray and I can't move it.
What can I do to fix it? I've installed all the drivers and everything and like I said it worked before.

Try again after each step
- In the App Store, tap Updates. Find GarageBand in the list. If you see Update next to GarageBand, tap Update. If not, skip this step.
- If you use Audio Units Extensions or Inter-App Audio apps as instruments or effects with GarageBand, check with the manufacturer for updates.
- If you use an external audio interface, disconnect it. If GarageBand works, you might need to update or service your audio interface.
- Delete any Audio Units Extensions or Inter-App Audio apps.
- Create a new song, then play it. If it works, check your other songs and solo tracks to see which one caused the issue.
- Reset GarageBand. Go to Settings > GarageBand, then tap Reset GarageBand. When you reset GarageBand, your song files, presets, or patches aren't affected. Other custom settings, such as the 24-bit audio resolution and Multitrack Recording settings, are reset to factory defaults.
- Back up any songs on your device. Then delete GarageBand and redownload it.
